About the Role
World Family’s Telephone English program has been successfully in operation for over 40 years. As a Teacher Performer you will be delivering 5-6 minute calls where you will be conversing and singing with children on an audio-only call, with a 2-3 minute break in-between. The Teacher Performer will be responsible for delivering a fun and interactive performance for children and their families ranging from 1-6 years old. Calls will be delivered from the comfort of your home. The Teacher Performers are expected to show enthusiasm, guidance and a passion for early childhood education.
About You
- At least 1 year of performance experience (music, musical theater, theater, etc.) is required
- At least 2 years of experience with children (education, summer camps, nannying/babysitting, children’s theater, etc.) is required
- Fluency in Microsoft Office suite of products, Power Point, Excel, and Teams is required
- Online education experience is recommended
- A passion for educating young learners is required
- Creative ability to engage young students
- Great collaboration skills, and works well under pressure
- High-level communication skills, ability to change performance delivery based on feedback
- Passion for innovation and a strong belief in education
- Comfortable with tech and using video conferencing software such as zoom
- Have a fast and reliable internet connection, webcam and space to perform in your house
The ideal candidate will have performing experience and a strong understanding of how to interact and engage with young children. This person will be comfortable singing to others on an audio call and able to use key tools such as Zoom efficiently. Teacher Performers should have a flexible schedule as performances take place during Monday – Friday 4:00am – 8:30am EST. In addition to performance abilities, the ideal candidate will be community-oriented, working towards a common goal of improving the English ability of our young learners. A knowledge of learning theories such as Natural language acquisition and the Suzuki method (both covered during training) will be important for understanding how to deliver a successful performance.

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
