Background and-or Security Investigation required DUTIES:
Functions as a physician member of an interdisciplinary team. Conducts psychiatric evaluations, develops treatment plans, implements treatment, and provides clinical management for a variety of complex mental health conditions including PTSD, substance abuse, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, psychosis, and other related conditions. Will provide four hours per week of telemental health evaluation. Actively collaborates with mental health specialists and care managers providing mental health evaluations, clinician education, and decision support, and evidence-based psychopharmacology.
Provides outpatient evaluations, attending notes, and curbside consultations and has knowledge of psychopharmacology and various psychotherapy techniques including cognitive behavioral therapy, insight-oriented methods, family therapy, relaxation training and mindfulness cognitive therapy. Particip! ates in quality of care and peer review activities, and documents clinical treatment and management in electronic medical records including H&PÂ's, treatment plans, pain assessments, and discharge plans.
Work Schedule: Tuesday through Saturday, 8:00am to 4:30pm. Possibility of working some evening hours on weekend or weekdays. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
a. Citizenship. Citizen of the United States. (Non-citizens may be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens).
b. Education. Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed. Residency training in general internal medicine.
c. Licensure and Registration. Must have a current, full, and unrestricted license to! practice Psychiatry in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the Unit! ed States, or in the District of Columbia. Must be board-certified or board eligible in Psychiatry. If board-eligible, must become board certified within one year of being hired.
d. English Language Proficiency. Must be proficient in spoken and written English as required by 38 U.S.C. 7402(d) and 7407(d).
e. Physical Standards. Must pass a pre-employment physical examination.
