Neuropsychology Center of Utah is hiring for a Full Time and/or Part Time Child and Adolescent Psychologist. This position is a vital member of a multi-disciplinary team composed of multipl e disciplines to provide holistic or comprehensive psychological services to patients presenting with various emotional, behavioral and psychological disorders. This position provides individual, family or group psychotherapy, parent training and collaborates with the behavioral health team to develop and implement behavior modification programs, with evidence based treatments and intervention programs that patients can understand and comply with.
Essential Job Duties
- Assess the patients medical history, mental health history, and current presentation to understand the patients needs for treatment.
- Diagnose and treat various mental, emotional and behavioral disorders.
- Develop a plan of care either individually or with input from the patient, patient family/significant others, physicians and other members of the healthcare team.
- Provide treatment based on patient need and evidenced based interventions.
- Refer patients to other services to improve their well-being. These referrals may include community services, treatment programs, support groups, and/or psychiatrists (or other mental health providers).
- Properly documents pertinent information in regard to the patients plan of care.
- Work with the multi-disciplinary team to develop a discharge plan in order to provide further care, services, and referrals in order to ensure continuity of care.
- Provide care and treatment within the scope of the Mental Health Practice Act.
Minimum Requirements
- Doctorate degree (Ph.D. or Psy.D) in Psychology from an accredited institution (degree will be verified). Completion of additional coursework and practicum/internship training working with Children and Adolescents is required.
- Current Utah license as a psychologist or license eligible. Applicants with a Psychology Resident License will also be considered. Post-Doctoral candidates are en couraged to apply
- Psychologist will adhere to all appropriate standards of practice as outlined by the American Psychological Association, State Licensing Board, and NPCU policy and procedures
Preferred Requirements
- Experience in a behavioral health outpatient setting working with children and adolescents
