Psychiatrist - (Psych) Locum Tenens
StartDate: ASAP Available Shifts: 8 Hour/Day
This is growing medical center in southern Utah, is looking to expand their outpatient clinic is a full time psychiatrist. The mental health physician will be responsible for medication checks and initial evaluations for a patient load of 10 to 13 per day. There is no Call responsibility associated with this assignment. An administrative staff, psych nurses, and two psychiatrists will be available to the locum tenens psychiatry f or support. Cr! edentialing takes three to four weeks, and the mental health p! hysician can start as soon as possible on an ongoing basis. Please contact Staff Care for more details.
A psychiatrist (locum tenens) is a mental health professional, who focuses on preventing, diagnosing, and treating mental illness. After completing medical school, a psychiatrist must also complete a one year internship and three additional years of specialized training as a psychiatric resident. In the treatment of mental illness, a psychiatrist is licensed to prescribe medication. Some conditions requiring medication include; depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and ADHD. A psychiatrist evaluates patients with mental illness and, in cases where medication is subscribed, often practices medication management.
Required Qualifications
All candidates must be licensed in the state of Utah, and have completed as psychiatry residency.
Preferred Qualifications
Physician with experience in a fast pace, growing practice with electronic medical! records are a valuable asset.
