Posting closes August 23, 2013The University Counseling Center (UCC) at the University of Utah welcomes applications for a full-time clinical social worker. Expertise in! crisis intervention and a demonstrated ability to provide multiculturally competent individual, group and couples counseling to a diverse college population is necessary. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to work independently as well as engage collaboratively with a multidisciplinary clinical team including clinical directors, social work, psychology, and psychiatric staff. Responsibilities: Duties include intake assessment and crisis intervention; individual, group and couples counseling using a brief therapy model; providing transition care for clients referred to the community; outreach/consultation; and training responsibilities.
Additional administrative responsibilities include; providing case management, follow up and tracking for clients referred to community providers; serving as the primary UCC liaison to community mental health resources; and other relevant duties as assigned. Qualifications: Applicants must possess a degree from an! accredited master†s program in social work (MSW). Additiona! l qualifications include current Licensed Clinical Social Worker (L.C.S.W.) certificate for clinical practice or L.C.S.W. eligibility in the State of Utah; two years directly related experience; excellent clinical and case management skills, a strong knowledge base regarding multicultural issues; demonstrated ability to work on a multidisciplinary team; ability to communicate verbally as well as in writing; creativity; flexibility; and experience with crisis intervention and clinical consultation.
Preferences: LCSW is strongly preferred but CSW†s who have passed the clinical board exam and have a minimum of 2000 hours towards licensure will be considered. Other preferences include prior experience working with college age students and young adults; experience with international populations; and experience providing couples and/or group therapy. Second language capabilities would be a plus.The UCC is accredited by the International Association of Counseling! Services (IACS) with a multi-disciplinary staff made-up of licensed social workers, psychologists, and a senior psychiatrist. We have a nationally recognized training program that includes an American Psychological Association accredited pre-doctoral internship as well as trainees in Social Work, Psychiatry, Counseling Psychology and Clinical Psychology.
